It’s second vs third on Sunday afternoon when the Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 team face Hills United at Marconi Stadium.
The Wanderers will be looking to get their third win on the trot after a comfortable 4-0 victory over Macarthur Rams last round.
However, Hills have also had a good start to the season, winning three of their opening four games, including a 3-2 victory over North Shore Mariners last Saturday.
Hills have proven to be a tough opponent for the Red & Black since their return to NPL 2 with the Wanderers having a record of only one win in four games against the north-west Sydney outfit.
For the Wanderers, Marley Peterson has been in good scoring form with three goals in his last two games.
The 19-year-old signed for the Wanderers in June 2018 from Manly United, scoring on his club debut against North Shore Mariners.
Able to play as a centre forward, on the wing or as an attacking midfielder, Peterson has shown an eye for goal since joining the Wanderers Academy with nine goals in 17 NPL 2 appearances.
Thomas Aquilina is another to player to watch on Sunday afternoon. The former Football NSW Institute player is now a firm fixture in the Red & Black’s NPL 2 first grade squad after being part of Grand final success with both the U18 and U20 sides.
Equally comfortable as centre back or right back, the 18-year-old has also been making an impact in an attacking sense with goals in each of his last two appearances.
