Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the signing of Wanderers Academy graduate Mohamad Al-Taay to a scholarship contract.
Having impressed Wanderers head coach Carl Robinson during pre-season, the versatile young player featured in a number of pre-season matches in the centre of midfield, earning himself a scholarship contract in the process.
Al-Taay joined the Wanderers Academy in 2016, rising through the ranks with an ability to play in multiple positions coupled with a great attitude off the pitch and strong mentality.
The 20-year-old Campbelltown junior joined the club from Marconi Stallions and has impressed in journey to the first team.
Al-Taay said it was a dream come true to get his chance to be a part of the first team at the club.
“It has been a great journey for me to get this opportunity and it is one I am going to continue to work hard to payback the faith the coaching staff is putting in me,” said Al-Taay.
“It’s been my dream to become a professional footballer, I’ve been lucky to have some great coaches along the way at the Wanderers like Ian Crook and Arthur Diles who have given me great advice and helped me improve.
“Under Carl Robinson and the first team coaching staff I am continuing to learn and develop, he’s a fantastic coach and I’ve had lots of opportunities this pre-season to play and just absorb all the information they are providing me.
“I want to continue to improve, work hard and take any chances I get this season.”
