Wanderers to open 2020/21 season

The Western Sydney Wanderers fixtures for the full A-League 2020/21 season and the opening round of the Westfield W-League season have today been released.

View the full fixture here.

With a massive month to open the season, the Wanderers A-League side will play eight games in 34 days to kickstart their 2020/21 campaign including five matches at Bankwest Stadium.

The Red & Black’s Westfield W-League team will open the season in a blockbuster clash against Melbourne Victory, marking the very first time that the season has opened with a double header from the two competitions.

The Wanderers will host all 13 A-League home fixtures at Bankwest Stadium with three Friday, five Saturday, two Sunday, and three weeknight fixtures on a Monday and Tuesday.

The weekend fixtures are all at family-friendly timeslots of 6:00pm, 6:30pm and 7:00pm.

The Red & Black will open the season against new club Macarthur Bulls on Sunday 27 December before taking on Western United in the club’s traditional New Year’s Day fixture five days later.

Round 3 will see the Wanderers play in their first away match of the season against Newcastle Jets on Tuesday 5 January before returning to Bankwest to take on Adelaide United on Saturday 9 January.

The first Sydney Derby will be during Round 5 at ANZ Stadium on Saturday 16 January, hosted by our cross-town rivals.

Sydney Derby away

Continuing on the road, the Wanderers will take on Central Coast Mariners three days later in Round 6 and return home for the next two rounds against Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory.

And mark this date down in your calendar – Saturday 13 February 2021 – when Bankwest Stadium hosts our only home Sydney Derby of the season at 7:00pm.

New rivals Macarthur Bulls will host the Wanderers on 20 March before the Wanderers welcome Melbourne City on Friday 26 March.

Another set of back-to-back away matches will follow with the Wanderers facing Adelaide and Sydney FC in the season’s third Sydney Derby.

Bankwest Stadium

The Red & Black return to Wanderland on Friday 16 April to face Brisbane Roar before another two away fixtures against Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United.

After an eight-day break, the Wanderers will play in their first fixture of May 2021 on Saturday the 8th against Newcastle Jets.

The final stretch of the season will then see two away Sunday 6:00pm fixtures against Brisbane and Perth before wrapping it all up at home on 31 May 2021 against Wellington Phoenix, Monday night at 7:00pm.
