The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will face NSW NPL 1 outfit APIA Leichhardt at Leichhardt Oval in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday 22 September.

The fixture against Billy McColl’s side will give the first team-squad another hit-out before the Westfield FFA Cup quarter final against Perth Glory on 29 September and the commencement of the Hyundai A-League season against Brisbane Roar on 8 October.

It’s not the first time the two sides have met with the most recent clash being a pre-season friendly in 2014 with the Wanderers running out 1-0 winners on the night courtesy of a Nikolai Topor-Stanley goal.

APIA finished runners-up during the NSW NPL 1 regular season with former Wanderer Adam D’Apuzzo a part of the squad.
